Pieces of Forgetting explores texture as a means of accessing different states of being in the process of forgetting, being forgotten, remembering, and being remembered, embodying both vagueness and clarity simultaneously. Form becomes a vessel to deconstruct and crystallize the image of ourselves in our own memories and the memories of others. Four dancers embody distinct ideas rather than conventional characters:\ the child— playful and curious; the ghost— melancholic and reflective; the tree/driftwood— hardened and jaded; and the lover—compassionate and adaptable. These figures inhabit a limbo-like space, each at different points in their engagement with forgetting, memory, and the self.
